Set up once, connect in seconds

Set up your Mac (once)

  1. On your Mac, open System Settings › General › Sharing.
  2. Turn on Screen Sharing.
  3. Click the ⓘ button next to it and make sure your user account is allowed to connect.
  4. Connect your iPhone or iPad to the same Wi-Fi network as the Mac.

Connect

Open MacReach. Your Mac appears under Nearby; tap it and sign in with the user name and password you use on that Mac. You can also tap + and enter the Mac’s address (for example 192.168.1.20 or My-Mac.local).

Free sessions and MacReach Pro

Every feature works in the free version. Free sessions last up to 15 minutes, and you can start a new one right away. MacReach Pro, a one-time purchase, removes the time limit. To use it on another iPhone or iPad, tap the crown on the Macs list, then Restore Purchases.

Troubleshooting

My Mac doesn’t appear under Nearby. Check that Screen Sharing is on and both devices are on the same network. On iPhone, allow MacReach in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.

Sign-in fails. Use the Mac’s account name and password (not your Apple Account), and make sure that account is allowed in the Screen Sharing options.

The screen feels slow. Tap the sliders button in the toolbar and chooseBalanced or Fastest.

Reaching your Mac away from home. MacReach works on the local network. Connect both devices to the same VPN to use it remotely.
