The short version
MacReach does not collect, store on our servers, sell or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app talks only to the Macs you connect to.
What stays on your device
- Saved Macs (the name and address you enter) are stored in the app on your device.
- Mac passwords, if you choose “Remember this password”, are stored in your device’s Keychain. They are sent only to the Mac you are signing in to, which checks them.
- App settings such as screen quality are stored on your device.
Deleting the app removes the saved Macs and settings. Deleting a Mac in the app also removes its saved password.
Network connections
MacReach connects directly from your device to your Mac. It uses the local network permission to find Macs that have Screen Sharing turned on (Bonjour service _rfb._tcp) and to connect to them. The screen image, keyboard and pointer input travel only between your device and your Mac; nothing passes through servers operated by us. When the Mac supports it, the connection is encrypted.
Purchases
MacReach Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we receive no payment or account details.
Children
MacReach does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
